Circularly polarized microstrip patch antenna array for GPS application

Abstract: <span>The 12 elements antenna array for GPS system having high gain with circular polarization is presented in this paper. The circularly polarized antenna is very suitable for the use of various wireless systems such as Global Positioning System with operating frequency is 1.27 GHz with AR is less than 3 dB between 82˚ and 140˚.The antenna consists of twelve main radiation patches connected in parallel. The antennas array are designed on the Rogers RT5880 substrate with a dielectric constant (εr) of 2.2… Show more

“…GPS can be used everywhere especially on the mobile phone, the smart grid and satellite orbit determination [15]. GPS is a navigation network that uses satellite system to get the position of an individual and the individuals can use GPS receivers to locate their current position and pinpoint their desired location [16,17]. GPS searches and calculates the location and position of a person at a certain area in terms of longitude and latitude including the altitude [18].…”

“…In addition to the use of substrate parasitic radiators by adjusting the distance between substrateparasitic and substrateantenna MIMO to obtain the greatest increase in gain, this method has been widely used. [2] One of the main equipment used in telecommunications is antennas. According to C. A. Balanis (2016) A microstrip antenna is an antenna consisting of very thin radiation elements (conductors) placed on the ground plane where between the fields with radiation elements (conductors) are separated by substratedielectrics.…”
