Circulation Marine De La Baie De Dakhla (Sud Du Maroc) Par Modèle Hydrodynamique 2d

Abstract: The marine circulation of Dakhla bay (South of Morocco 23°30'N-16°W) have been studied from January to February 2010 by 2D hydrodynamic model. This study aims to understand the marine circulation of this bay and its hydrodynamic functioning. Mainly governed by M2 tide and during spring tides, tidal currents are very strong in intensity near the inlet of the bay and its surrounding (between 1 and 2 m.s -1 ). In its central part and the nothern part of the bay, their intensity are very less (< 1 m.s -1 ). During… Show more

“…The dominant climate around the lagoon is Mediterranean, with hot and dry summers and mild and rainy winters [37]. The wind is the main driver of marine circulation of the waters of the Marchica Lagoon [38,39], which has two dominant directions, east-northeast to east from May to October, and west-southwest to west between November and May. The watershed of the lagoon is characterized by the abandoned iron-mining site at Iksane, the iron and steel industries at Selouane and Al Arouit, irrigated agriculture (including fertilizer and pesticide use) on the Bouarg plain, and fishing industries in Beni Ensar [40].…”

“…4), revealed an increase in the number of marine species (5 more species). This fact can be explained by the management measures implemented after 2011, particularly the opening of the new large pass (300m in large and 6 m in depth), allowing a large variety of marine species to enter the lagoon, and resultant improvement in water quality (Aknaf et al, 2015) and also an increase in water renewal rate (Hilmi et al, 2015;Maicu et al, 2018). The same pattern has been observed for resident species that have gained two more species after restoration.…”

“…To ensure the inclusion of this category, the Department of Marine Fisheries has set up a structuring program to financially support these social projects for an envelope of 129 million dirhams. In addition to technical, administrative and financial support, a theoretical and practical training program in the aquaculture profession is carried out for the benefit of young entrepreneurs and cooperatives in partnership with the Department of Maritime Fisheries for which ANDA has set up three educational farms in Dakhla [24,25], Agadir and Ras Al Ma. In the sense of capacity building in aquaculture [26,27], the Department of Marine Fisheries, ANDA and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have launched, with the support of Norway and the Netherlands, a project to support the development of aquaculture professions in Morocco for an amount of $ 2.5 million, which provides for the installation of a demonstration and training station for fish and shellfish farming in Sidi Ifni.…”
