ClimaCon: An Autonomous Energy Efficient Climate Control Solution for Smart Buildings

Abstract: In modern buildings, climate control is an essential aspect to ensure the utmost comfort for the occupants, even though, this very feature represents 40% ~ 70% of the energy consumption of these buildings. Therefore, using energy efficient climate control systems becomes a crucial requirement of modern smart buildings. In this paper, we propose an autonomous energy‐efficient climate control solution “ClimaCon”. ClimaCon is an external extension to any Heat Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system. The ma… Show more

“…Additionally, the application of an energy management and control system to assess the potential of different control strategies in HVAC systems is essential for achieving energy efficiency (Escrivá-Escrivá et al, 2010). Moreover, the development of an autonomous energy-efficient climate control solution, such as "ClimaCon," can significantly contribute to energy efficiency in smart buildings (Farag, 2016). In conclusion, the future direction of leveraging project management tools for energy efficiency in HVAC operations involves the implementation of intelligent control strategies, fault detection and diagnostics tools, and the development of autonomous energy-efficient climate control solutions.…”
