Abstract:The selection of an appropriate implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) type and implantation strategy involves a myriad of considerations. While transvenous ICDs are standard, the rise of non-transvenous options like subcutaneous ICDs and extravascular ICDs is notable for their lower complication rates.
