Abstract: Biliary intraepithelial neoplasia (BilIN), a noninvasive precursor of cholangiocarcinoma, can undergo malignant transformation. Cholangiocarcinoma progression is often attributed to chronic inflammation affecting the bile ducts and gallbladder. Choledochal cysts are precursors to cholangiocarcinoma.
