Cloud based healthcare application architecture and electronic medical record mining: An integrated approach to improve healthcare system

Abstract: Healthcare system can be enhanced vastly with the use of modern information technology. Still now in underdeveloped and developing countries, traditional paper based system is being used in healthcare. Although very few organizations use computer based system, they could not establish a ubiquitous network among patients, physicians and government. Cloud computing is the emerging technology which can be used to develop a heterogeneous network to improve the system. In this article, a three tier cloud based appl… Show more

“…), Hassanalieragh et al discussed on the existing challenges related to such integration and their views on integrating those techniques in the clinical practice [48]. Biswas et al introduced e-health cloud, a three-layered cloud based framework -capable of mining eHR datawhere the network layer was designed using Rich Internet Application 1 based client, the server layer with SimpleDB 2 , and a logic layer [49]. Pathinarupothi et al presented a multi-layered architecture consisting of IoT devices coupled with body sensors which was implemented to remotely monitor cardiac patients [50].…”

“…eHealth Cloud is a cloud-based health care system that was developed in Bangladesh to heterogeneously connect the patients, doctors, the government and other players in the health care system to replace the paper-based system [39]. The lack of electronic medical information repository, the inability for doctors to see patient medical history, the impracticality of analyzing medical data and the absence of a heterogeneous communication platform among the health system players were major issues with the paper-based system.…”
