CMOS thermal sensing system with simplified circuits and high accuracy for Biomedical Application

Abstract: A low-cost thermal sensor with sigma-delta ADC was realized in 0.25pm CMOS process. Simplify the circuitry sitma with different technologies to improve the efficiency and Delta igtal Temp. reduce the error in the thermal sensor chip. Substrate npn Bi e Odt transistors are used to sense the temperature and generate the ADC's reference voltage. The ingenious application of sigmadelta ADCs can reduce the complexity of circuit, thereby CLE Control reducing system cost, area and power consumption. Attach importance… Show more

“…We also use 2.4 GHz and 60 GHz to be our transceivers frequencies, which would make our communication system more suitable for our hierarchy architecture. We had already completed the thermal sensor groups [10] and the 2.4 GHz communication system [8], [9]. In the future, we will accomplish other applications sensor group for implementing the whole WSN system.…”

“…The adaptive multi-sensor CMOS system proposed by Huang et al [28] comprises different on-chip sensors including a temperature sensor which is using a pn junction to sense the body temperature. The lowcost CMOS thermal sensor chip for biomedical application presented by Lee et al is also employing a pn junction as temper ature sensing element [29]. Crepaldi et al proposed a low power CMOS transistors based thermal sensing element for biomedical application [30].…”

“…Recent CMOS temperature sensors [1][2][3][5][6][7][8] have designed for the modern system-on-chip (SOC) integration. However most of these designs used the parasitic bipolar junction transistors (BJT) as the part of its proposed to absolute temperature (PTAT) circuitry.…”
