Fifth generation (5G) mobile networks utilize millimeter-waves (mm-waves) to achieve higher data rates. This paper presents a dual-polarized antenna array that operates at 28 GHz (27.5-29.5 GHz) and 38 GHz (37-39 GHz) bands and is usable in mobile handsets. The array is based on slot antennas with separate feeds for each polarization and band. The multifeed structure allows us to improve isolation between bands. The dual-polarized array has a peak realized gain of 10-13 dBi and it is capable of beam-steering for up to ±35 • or ±50 • at 28 GHz and 38 GHz bands, respectively. The performance of the array in the presence of a smartphone chassis is also studied.
