Abstract:Co-ordinate Interleaving (CI) along with rotated constellations improves diversity gain over fading channels [1]. We propose employing CI over parallel Gaussian channels for improving the sum mutual information.
I. INTRODUCTIONWhen the inputs to parallel Gaussian channels are Gaussian, waterfilling (WF) maximizes sum mutual information (MI). For given arbitrary input distributions, mercury/waterfilling (MWF) [2] was shown to maximize sum MI.Co-ordinate interleaving (CI), with input symbols from rotated QAM con… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
