CO2 Emissions and Macroeconomic Indicators: Analysis of the Most Polluted Regions in the World

Abstract: There is no sector of the economy that is not dependent on the state of development of the energy sector. This sector produces a significant share of global CO2 emissions. Harmful CO2 emissions and greenhouse gas emissions accelerate global warming. Therefore, more and more countries are adopting a strategy for the transition to carbon-neutral energy. However, energy independence and economic competitiveness are closely linked. One cannot analyze them separately. Given these facts, we focused on conducting an … Show more

“…The diversity of objects of influence, their different importance, complexity, and incomplete hierarchy determine the need to codify the elements of the management system to organize the relevant indicators with their subsequent combination within the limits of the proposed sets. Summarizing the scientific research [20][21][22][23][24][25], we present the groups of elements of the industrial enterprise management system (Table 1).…”

“…Similarly, another research investigated spatial spillover effects regarding globalization and carbon discharges, illustrating the existence of a favourable geographic externality of CO2 discharges from adjacent nations and highlighting the importance of incorporating spillover effects in such analyses (Nan et al 2022). Moreover, a literature segment pinpointed peer influences in the uptake of domestic renewable energy systems, like residential solar photovoltaics, electric cars, and water heaters (Wen et al 2021;Shpak et al 2022).…”

“…These factors operate in different areas and have varying degrees of impact and consequences. They include a macroeconomic policy that encourages the overuse of natural resources, an investment policy that prioritizes using natural resources, and a sectoral policy that needs improving, especially in the fuel and energy industry (Shpak et al, 2022). Somalia's CO 2 emissions are relatively low compared to other countries due to its limited industrialization and low per capita energy consumption.…”
