“…The BE is shied to lower values (about 0.2 eV) compared to that of Co 2p 3/2 in Co 3 O 4 or CoO (780.2 eV). 48 The close proximity of binding energies for both oxides, i.e., Co 3 O 4 and CoO, makes it difficult to identify the Co state at the surface of this material.…”

“…Numerous interesting studies have reported the synthesis of M‐MSNs using the cocondensation method with slight modifications. The modified conditions included changing the solvent (ethanol), reaction conditions (alkalescent or acidic), and surfactant template or structure‐directing agent (N‐hexadecyl ethylenediamine triacetate, HED3A), the addition of stabilizers or encapsulating agents (e.g., polyethylene oxide (PEO)48b and polyethyleneimine (PEI)21b), and the use of long‐term hydrothermal treatments or a drying time of 7 d, which significantly enhanced the physicochemical attributes, mechanical stability and encapsulation efficiency of diverse metal species in MSNs 20b,28b,38,48a,53a. In this framework, Niu and co‐workers48a fabricated metal oxide–encapsulated MSNs using an anionic surfactant template, i.e., HED3A in sodium hydroxide, which acted as a structure‐directing agent and a metal‐chelating agent.…”

“…The TIE method works on a principle similar to that of the postsynthetic grafting method, but it differs in utilizing no auxiliary immobilization of organic linkers for the uniform deposition of metal species. The TIE strategy is often favorable for use to incorporate metal cations into MSNs by an ion‐exchange process in two ways 20a. One method is by exchanging the acid positions as with solids of Al‐MCM‐41, which is not very strong compared to other mesoporous supports such as zeolites.…”

“…An alternative method that has been under development for the preparation of supported nanoparticles is supercritical deposition (SCD) [14][15][16][17][18][19][20]. SCD consists of dissolution of a metal precursor in a supercritical solvent, the adsorption of the precursor from the supercritical fluid phase onto the surface of the substrate, and the conversion of the precursor to its metal form on the surface of the substrate using various routes [21,22].…”
