“…The relationship between plasma and tissue levels of CoQ10 is not fully understood. A small study of 40 patients by Keith et al did show that CoQ10 levels in cardiac biopsy specimens were higher in patients who had received 4 weeks of supplementation compared to those who had not, and were associated with an increase in plasma CoQ10 [36]. Levels in chest wall muscle were not different between supplement and no supplement groups, and pre-supplement biopsy levels were not available.…”
