Coherent light in intense spatiospectral twin beams

Abstract: Intense spatio-spectral twin beams generated in the regime with pump depletion are analyzed applying a suggested quantum model that treats the signal, idler and pump fields in the same way. The model assumes the signal and idler fields in the form of the generalized superposition of signal and noise and reveals nonzero signal coherent components in both fields, contrary to the models developed earlier. The influence of coherent components on the properties of intense twin beams is elucidated. The interference … Show more

“…Here, we continue this investigation by theoretically analyzing both spatial and spectral properties of intense twin beams in the regime with pump depletion. For this analysis, we generalize the original model of refs 35 38 to include also poled nonlinear crystals. The obtained model is applied, as an example, to two typical poled LiNbO 3 crystals, one having a regular grating, the other being chirped.…”

“…Various forms of quantum correlations such as the entanglement and Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) steering were also predicted in short chains of quantum Kerr oscillators [88][89][90][91]. On the other hand, the process of parametric down-conversion analyzed alone without any damping or amplification gives rise to both single-mode squeezing and entanglement between both modes expressed through sub-shot-noise photon-number correlations [92].…”

“…Multiple coherence maxima occurring in the averaged intensity correlation functions are predicted for even higher pump powers 39 . For such beams, also photon-number statistics were investigated 40 . Multi-mode thermal photon-number statistics, which are a consequence of the initial spontaneous process, were experimentally verified 35 for lower pump powers.…”
