“…The recovery status of both treatment groups is clearly illustrated in Figure 2. These results indicate that HOCl may also be an effective agent, similar to the results of different anti-mycotic trials on dermatophytosis (Ertaş et al, 2015;Odorcic et al, 2015;Wisal, 2018;Choi et al, 2019;Endo et al, 2020;Indarjulianto et al, 2020;Romanowski et al, 2020;Brescini et al, 2021).…”

“…Although dermatopytosis appears as a simple superficial disease on the skin, it is quite resistant to treatment. (Sánchez et al, 2014;Şimay and Karademir, 2015;Indarjulianto et al, 2020). Therefore, it can be treated with long and expensive treatment processes (Katiraee et al, 2021).…”

“…Complete recovery was achieved after 42 days of combination treatment using itraconazole and ketoconazole. Lesions reductions were shown after 20 days of itraconazole administration and of 35 days ketoconazole respectively [17]. However, it seems that the recovery process also depends on the severity of the disease in addition to the immune status of the host.…”

“…Isolation and proper treatment of the infected animals and humans with adequate hygienic and disinfection measures should be explained by veterinarians to reduce the potential risk of zoonosis¹². As keratinized tissues are affected, dermatophytosis infection in cats appears as superficial dermatosis, multifocal circular patches of alopecia with scaling is the most commonly seen clinical sign noticed in cats, and they sometimes develop nodular dermatophyte lesions like mycetoma, psuedomycetoma, and kerion 13 . Direct examination of the hairs and scales confirms the presence of the infection.…”
