Social sensing services use humans as sensor carriers, sensor operators and sensors themselves in order to provide situation-awareness to applications. is promises to provide a multitude of bene ts to the users, for example in the management of natural disasters or in community empowerment. However, current social sensing services depend on Internet connectivity since the services are deployed on central Cloud platforms. In many circumstances, Internet connectivity is constrained, for instance when a natural disaster causes Internet outages or when people do not have Internet access due to economical reasons. In this paper, we propose the emerging Fog Computing infrastructure to become a key-enabler of social sensing services in situations of constrained Internet connectivity. To this end, we develop a generic architecture and API of Fogenabled social sensing services. We exemplify the usage of the proposed social sensing architecture on a number of concrete use cases from two di erent scenarios. With the popularity of smart mobile devices, information exchange between users has become more and more frequent, and Mobile Social Networks (MSNs) have attracted significant attention in many research areas. Nowadays, discovering social relationships among people, as well as detecting the evolution of community have become hotly discussed topics in MSNs. One of the major features of MSNs is that the network topology changes over time. Therefore, it is not accurate to depict the social relationships of people based on a static network. In this paper, we present a survey of this emerging field from a temporal perspective. The state-of-the-art research of MSNs is reviewed with focus on four aspects: social property, time-varying graph, temporal social property, and temporal social properties-based applications. Some important open issues with respect to MSNs are discussed. Abstract-With the rapid growth of the text processing technology, many knowledge discovery approaches have been introduced to handle large corpus. Data mining methods such as clustering and categorization, for example, have found wide applications in corpus processing. Recently, association rule mining methods also have a place in this field. However, due to the huge amount of "items" contained in corpus, the traditional association rule mining algorithms encounter great effectiveness and efficiency challenges. In this paper, a new parallel association rule mining algorithm especially customized for corpus is developed and implemented using the MPI programming interface. The main ideas are to adopt a distributed inverted index hash table, and to design a communication scheme based on "chessboard decomposition" to accelerate the generation of candidate itemsets. Experiments are are devised and conducted on the Tianhe-II Supercomputer of Guangzhou National Super Computing Center. The experimental results demonstrate that the new algorithm has achieved desirable performance, with a speedup rate of 16 when using 49 processes altogether.
