Compact, high isolation, and dual‐polarized differential dual‐notched UWBMIMO slot antenna

Abstract: A compact differentially fed ultrawideband‐multiple‐input multiple‐output (UWB‐MIMO) antenna with very high isolation, dual‐polarization, and dual‐notched bands is proposed in this letter. The proposed MIMO antenna consists of two pairs of differential ports which share a common circular radiation slot, making the proposed UWB‐MIMO antenna as compact as one antenna element with the size of 30 × 30 mm2. By arranging two pairs of differential ports orthogonally in the virtual ac ground of each other, the differe… Show more

“…Table shows its superiority basing on the same FR4 substrate. Basing on other expensive substrate, the proposed antenna is much smaller than and nearly equal to in electrical size. So, it has a low cost, small size, high isolation, high frequency selectivity (ROC), and controllable rejected bandwidth for filtering interference frequencies, especially.…”

“…94 The differential port with orthogonal polarization was used to improve the performance of ultra wide band (UWB) antenna with MIMO technique. 95 An antenna structure with multislot was reported for reducing the surface current in reverse direction at the adjacent boundary of 2 antennas. This effect produces isolation of 50 dB, and gain of 8 dBi along with omnidirectional radiation patterns.…”

“…Some well‐known techniques include matching and decoupling networks, parasitic element approach, electromagnetic band‐gap (EBG) structures, defected ground structure, and neutralizing line . Apart from these methods, other techniques like a slot etching on ground plane or on antenna element, use of metamaterial, use of PIN diode, radio frequency choke (RFC), and placement of antenna in orthogonal manner are also used to reduce the mutual coupling. The diversity‐based antenna provides high isolation .…”
