Comparative Analysis of AODV, OLSR, TORA, DSR and DSDV Routing Protocols in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks

Abstract: Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs) are autonomous and decentralized wireless systems. Mobile Ad hoc Network is a collection of mobile nodes in which the wireless links are frequently broken down due to mobility and dynamic infrastructure. Routing is a significant issue and challenge in ad hoc networks. Many Routing protocols have been proposed so far to improve the routing performance and reliability. This research paper describes the characteristics of ad hoc routing protocols Ad-hoc On Demand Distance Vector Ro… Show more

“…The authors conclude that the performance of all the three protocols is compared with each other to obtain the best performing candidate. Navitha and Velmurugan (2016) proposed the Performance Analysis of AODV and DSR Kaur and Kumar (2013). This research paper revised the characteristics of ad hoc routing protocols Ad-hoc On Demand Distance Vector Routing (AODV), Optimized link State Routing (OLSR), Temporally Ordered Routing Algorithm (TORA), Dynamic Source Routing (DSR), Destination-Sequenced Distance-Vector Routing (DSDV) based on the performance metrics.…”

“…But all of the above protocols have flaws and defects in the protection system, and can be easily subjected to attacks. There are two types of attacks on routing protocols in Ad Hoc networks that are; passive attacks and active attacks (Kaur, D., & Kumar, 2013).…”

“…OLSR was developed based on link state routing algorithm; OLSR uses optimized technique to extract information pertaining to the network topology [22]. In optimized link state routing, when there is a change in network topology occurs, flooding of information to all the network nodes happens.…”
