Comparative Analysis of Celery Performance Based on Its Germination Percentage

Abstract

Celery is an important source of natural active products that are different, based on mechanism and biological properties. Therefore the current research was carried out at AJ Science College Mirpurkhas during the growing season of 2022 the research was considered based on its germination study was restricted in pot experiments for observing its germination growth. In case of days to emergence POT-I was taken with maximum number of days for variety-I while POT-VII was recorded with minimum number of days. For the variety-II POT-I was reported with maximum number of days whereas the POT-VI was noted with minimum number of days under normal conditions. Considering organic rich soil Variety-I was testified with maximum number of days for POT-I, however the minimum days were observed in POT-VI. In case of Variety-II, POT-II was recorded with greater number of days while the POT-VIII was reported with minimum number of days. It is suggested that plant possess more beneficial and stable environment for growth. Considering germination percentages. Under normal soil conditions Variety-I's total germination percentage of 48.75% was taken into consideration, indicating that this genotype is more suited for future adaptation in this environment. POT-V (70%) and POT-II (60%), exhibited the maximum germination percentage, respectively. Regarding Variety-II which demonstrated total germination percentage (58.75%). While the POT-III was on the top for producing maximum germination percentage (80%). It is suggested that Variety-II performed well in normal environment then Variety-I, so it is necessary to initiate breeding and selection program in Mirpurkhas district. In case of organic soil condition. The total germination percentage under organic soil conditions for Variety-I was obtained (60%). POT-V was exhibited with maximum germination percentage (80%), followed by POT-I (70%).Considering Variety-II which demonstrated greater total percentage value (68.75%). Among the pots result the POT-III showed maximum germination percentage (90%), overall research suggested that genotypes were observed are performing well it should be included for future selection for increasing its commercial value.
