Abstract:Relevance of the topic: Appendectomy is one of the most frequently performed operations in abdominal surgery. Laparoscopic access is gradually replacing open surgery for acute appendicitis. The aim of this study was to assess the technical feasibility and safety of the laparoscopic technique for acute appendicitis and compare its results with open appendectomy.
