Comparative Research on Determination of Islet Cell Autoantibodies (ICA) by Diabetes Mellitus by Means of Elisa-Kit “Isletest™—ICA” and Indirect Immunofluorescent Test

Abstract

Seven groups patients have been investigated (with 1-st and 11-nd type diabetes, their relatives of first degree of relationship, persons with disturbed glucose tolerance and healthy controls). Serums have been tested by two tests: ELISA-kit "Js/etestTM-ICA" (investigated 85 patients) and indirect immunofluorescent test (investigated 118 patients). The frequencies of JCA-positivity in the separate groups, obtained by the two methods, essentially distinguished between each other (onZv in 6.3 % of all cases is observed correlation for ICA-positivity between the two methods). The concrete ELISA-method does not show any priority compared to the indirect immunofluorescent test.
