Comparative Study of Protective Action of Exogenous 2-Cys Peroxiredoxins (Prx1 and Prx2) Under Renal Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury

Abstract: The pathogenesis of ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injuries is based on oxidative stress caused by a sharp increase in the concentration of free radicals, reactive oxygen species (ROS) and secondary products of free radical oxidation of biological macromolecules during reperfusion. Application of exogenous antioxidants lowers the level of ROS in the affected tissues, suppresses or adjusts the course of oxidative stress, thereby substantially reducing the severity of I/R injury. We believe that the use of antioxida… Show more

“…The expression of this gene was more than 2-fold higher in A549 than in H1975 cells, albeit this difference was not significant. PRDX2 (an isoform more sensitive to peroxidation than PRDX1 [ 50 ]) was present in H1975 cells at low levels, these levels being even lower in A549 cells under our experimental conditions. The A549 cell line also has a lower level of GPX1 than the H1975 cells, this difference being significant ( p < 0.001).…”

“…В настоящее время существует ряд нерешенных проблем в работе направления трансплантации и пер фузии донорских легких -ишемическиреперфузи онное повреждение, отсутствие высокоэффективной антиоксидантной защиты, отсутствие дешевой и лег ко воспроизводимой экспериментальной модели для научных исследований, результаты которых можно экстраполировать на человека [1][2][3]. Животные явля ются предпочтительной экспериментальной моделью для исследования дыхательной системы, аналогич ной человеческой.…”

“…Therefore, OS can accelerate kidney disease progression. Different PRDX isoforms were reported to be involved in diabetic nephropathy (Lee and Lee 2018), ischemia/reperfusion damage (Sharapov et al 2020), obstructive kidney disease (Hwang et al 2019), ciliopathies (Zacchia et al 2020) and acute tubular necrosis (Wu et al 2017). However, the role of PRDXs in the pathophysiology of glomerular diseases is not well known.…”
