Comparative Study on the Bacterial Community of Cultivated and Uncultivated Rice Field Soils

Abstract: A study was conducted to determine the changes in bacterial micro flora of soil in relation fallowing (abandonment) in rice fields. Soil samples from two paddy fields at Kumarakom region, southwest part of Kuttanad, Kerala, one field with paddy cultivation and the other fallowed, was subjected to the study.
