Comparative Transcriptome Analysis of the Expression of Antioxidant and Immunity Genes in the Spleen of a Cyanidin 3-O-Glucoside-Treated Alzheimer’s Mouse Model

Abstract: Cyanidin 3-O-glucoside (C3G) is a well-known antioxidant found as a dietary anthocyanin in different fruits and vegetables. It has protective and therapeutic effects on various diseases. It can reduce neuronal death from amyloid-beta (Aβ)-induced toxicity and promote the inhibition of Aβ fibrillization. Antioxidant and immune modulation might play a critical role in the properties of C3G against Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and other diseases. However, limited studies have been performed on the mechanism involved … Show more

“…The addition of BANCs to the DSS-induced flies increased the NRF2, GSTS, and SOD expression levels compared with those in the inflamed group. The above-described results confirmed the effect of BANCs in modulating the antioxidant cell pathway, which was consistent with the results reported by Jaiswal et al [ 35 ]. The expression of genes in the NRF2 signaling pathways had a significant direct consequence on the marker levels of redox production, such as ROS and MDA ( Figure 5 and Figure 7 b).…”

“…Whole transcriptome analysis has been used to study gene expression-based mechanisms of treatment in different organisms [ 6 , 36 , 37 , 38 , 39 ]. In this study, RNA-Seq analysis was applied to study the entire transcriptome expression in the different groups of dogs to understand the biological mechanism important for the anti-inflammatory and anti-obesity effects of the diet.…”

“…Among the neurodegenerative disorders, AD is the most common, becoming the sixth leading cause of death in the United States [40]. Medicinal plants and their important constituents can be considered as potential treatments for neurodegenerative disorders according to earlier literature [41,42].…”
