Comparing Between The Amino Acid Composition Of Flax Seeds Before And After Germination

Abstract: Flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) is well known for its health benefits and chemical composition. Flax seeds are emerging as one of the key sources of phytochemicals in the functional food production. In addition, to being one of the richest sources of α-linolenic acid oil and lignans, flax seed is an essential source of high-quality protein and soluble fibre. This study aimed to evaluate the amino acids changes caused by germination. Amino acids are an important component of food. They serve as "building blocks" … Show more

“…Hence, on the basis of inequalities (7) 4), a statistically significant increase in the total content of amino acids was found. In particular, alanine, arginine, asparagine, cystine, glutamic acid, histidine, lysine, leucine, isoleucine, methionine, proline, threonine, tryptophan and tyrosine for the considered germination period of bioactivated flaxseed.…”

“…In this case, the test statistic (4) was compared with the critical value Т(α; df) of the right-tailed Student's T-distribution with the level of significance α and degrees of freedom df=K-1. If: Т>Т(α; df), (7) then the sample mean is significantly different from 0. If the inequality holds:…”
