“…Currently, there are no programs that can adequately perform automated right ventricular contour detection, and therefore we used manual detection of endocardial and epicardial borders in end-systole and end-diastole. The following parameters were calculated: biventricular EDV, ESV, stroke volume (SV), EF, and mass (11).…”

“…The * symbol indicates non-available statistical data because the number of samples for that particular case is too small. Segments are labeled as defined by American Heart Association standardization for myocardial segments (19). Comparison of RWMA probability value distributions between rest-only data (a) and the combined rest-stress data (b), both from scar and non-scar (normal) segment groups for each slice model.…”

“…The mid-ventricular level was defined at the middle level between the basal and the apical slices. Their corresponding slice levels in DSMR and CE-MRI were automatically calculated based on three-dimensional (3D) geometrical information obtained by using the MR Analytical Software System (MASS, v5.0, Medis, Leiden, the Netherlands) (19). Due to the smaller slice thickness of CE-MRI compared with cine-MRI, one or two CE-MR images can be associated to a slice level in cine-MRI.…”

“…Contours were automatically detected in the original coordinate system using the commercially available MASS package (Version 4.2, Medis, Leiden, the Netherlands),as described by Van der Geest et al [7] (Figure 2, bottom row). The epi-and endocardial volumes were calculated at each phase and for each selected slice of each image set, as per section 3.1.…”
