Abstract:Background: Unilateral spinal anesthesia in orthopedic surgery of a limb has its advantages, especially in patients undergoing outpatient basis surgeries. Low dose, slow speed of administration and remaining in lateral decubitus for a certain period facilitate unilateral distribution in spinal anesthesia.
