Comparison of Various Calculation Methods for Optical Incoherent Heterodyne Receivers

Abstract

To date several calculation methods have been published for evaluating the BER and determining the performance of incoherent optical heterodyne receivers. This paper compares these methods with regard to accuracy, complexity and the required CPU time.
