Competition of modes and self-modulation instability in dynamics of coherent friction: A review

Abstract: A structural pattern of the autowave transfer of the pulse and energy in dry and boundary friction systems is proposed. The coherence of friction is provided by a nonlinear excitation wave field with a nucleus-shell structure. A matching nucleus is concentrated in the friction contact and the physical volume of the friction counterbodies plays a role of a feedback resonator.
