Abstract:We report the photophysical properties of a molecular folda-dimer system PDI-AnEt 2 -PDI, where the electron-donating N,N-diethylaniline (AnEt 2 ) moiety bridges two electron-accepting perylene diimide (PDI) chromophores. The conformationally flexible PDI-AnEt 2 -PDI adopts either an open (two PDIs far apart) or folded (two PDIs within π-stacking distance) conformation, depending on the solvent environment. We characterized the photoinduced charge separation dynamics of both open and folded forms in solvents o… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
