Complex Assessment of Structural Systems Used for High-Rise Buildings

Abstract: Today, increasingly more attention is given to reduction of the negative impacts of human activities on the surrounding environment during different stages of a building life cycle, which should be estimated during the design stage of the building. Selection of a structural system for a high-rise building remains a complex task that requires estimating a large amount of data such as structural system parameters, architectural solutions, engineering system requirements and construction process peculiarities. De… Show more

“…It is used for multi-criteria evaluation of both maximizing and minimizing criteria values. COPRAS method is widely used for evaluation of complex processes by quantitative multi-criteria methods (Chatterjee et al 2011;Bitarafan et al 2012;Tavana et al 2013;Fouladgar et al 2012a;Kildienė et al 2011;Tamošaitienė, Gaudutis 2013;Hashemkhani Zolfani et al 2012;Nguyen et al 2014;Mulliner et al 2013;Podvezko 2011). This method assumes direct and proportional dependence of priority and utility degree of study alternatives on the system of indices adequately describing the alternatives as well as on values and significances of indices.…”

“…On the other hand, Tasan-Kok (2007) suggests that globalization does not necessarily create a prototype for cities' development; it rather produces so-called "global urban forms" patterns. Yet, shape and content of the commercial projects is influenced by local contingency and therefore must be adjusted based on country-specific strategy (Tasan-Kok 2007), requiring different types of strategic decisions and management passing through building life stages (Tamošaitienė, Gaudutis 2013).…”

“…High-rise building structure systems are estimated by applying COPRAS-G method (Tamosaitiene, Gaudutis 2013). It can be stated that application of grey numbers is rather rarer in the analysed area.…”
