Complexity Assessment of Assembly Supply Chains from the Sustainability Viewpoint

Abstract: Assembly supply chain systems are becoming increasingly complex and, as a result, there is more and more need to design and manage them in a way that benefits the producers and also satisfies the interests of community stakeholders. The structural (static) complexity of assembly supply chain networks is one of the most important factors influencing overall system complexity. Structures of such networks can be modeled as a graph, with machines as nodes and material flow between the nodes as links. The purpose o… Show more

“…They also figured out that, in the digital, narrowly specialized and advanced globalized era, the meaningfulness of value-creating activities is important for the future of business. Currently, the companies consider the meaningfulness of work and communication as the most important values of people management [48][49][50]. The research results presented in the papers of those authors, and in our paper in a similar way, describe the value profiling of companies operating in Slovakia and the values the companies consider crucial for the success of their business in the Industry 4.0 era.…”

“…Slovak authors such as Modrak et al (2019), Modrak and Zuzana (2020) and Židek et al (2020) also are dealing with the issue of Industry 4.0, Innovation and SME. They have discovered that, the significant problem in the usability of clouds platforms is the lack of support to store a digital twin and its simulation and visualization.…”

“…In the field of logistics, many quantitative models have been established to explore the complexity of the supply chain [16][17][18][19][20][21]. Some quantitative methods have been employed for the assessment of the operational capacity and efficiency of 3PL with the purpose of selecting the reliable suppliers as cooperative partners and providing strategic basis for defining the policy [1,5,13,22,23].…”
