Composite-Sorbent Based on Natural Mineral and Waste of Biological Treatment of Wastewater (Effluent)

Abstract: A new practical application of waste biological treatment of municipal wastewater activated sludge as a raw material for the composite-selective adsorbent is presented for the first time. Composite-sorbent contains up to 85% of the surplus activated sludge, and the rest-diatomit partlandtsement. It is shown that the adsorption capacity and selectivity of the resulting composite material is stabilized after electrochemical activation. The implementation preliminary purification step of waste water from ions of … Show more

“…Recent studies by a number of authors have focused on the development of composite materials as sorbents that combine the “desired” properties (such as the presence of SFG, developed specific surface area, mechanical strength, chemical resistance, etc.) of each of the components [ 16 , 17 , 18 , 19 , 20 ]. One of the approaches is to use natural polymers, such as humic acids, valuable products of the chemical processing of coal waste, to obtain composite sorbents suitable for the sorption method.…”

“…The properties of diatomaceous earth, as a sorbent material, are significantly influenced by the preparation and processing of natural raw materials. Studies on chemical modification [19], heat treatment [20], electrochemical action [21], and electrostatic enrichment [22] make it possible to increase the selectivity of action and sorption capacity. The actual direction of modification of building materials is the use of plasma technologies [23][24][25].…”
