Abstract:Boolean network models have widely been used to study the dynamics of gene regulatory networks. However, such models are coarse-grained to an extent that they abstract away molecular specificities of gene regulation. In contrast, bipartite Boolean network models of gene regulation explicitly distinguish genes from transcription factors (TFs). In such models, multiple TFs may simultaneously contribute to the regulation of a gene by forming heteromeric complexes. The formation of heteromeric complexes gives rise… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
