Abstract: Leydig cells produce testosterone, a hormone essential for male sex differentiation and spermatogenesis. The pituitary hormone, LH, stimulates testosterone production in Leydig cells by increasing the intracellular cAMP levels, which leads to the activation of various kinases and transcription factors, ultimately stimulating the expression of the genes involved in steroidogenesis.
