“…As seen in the P-V data we have observed an anomaly around 15 GPa very similar to Nb 3 Al [13 ]. In the pressure range between 15 and 19 GPa, where the volume anomaly takes place, the volume is observed to change by only 0.5%.…”

“…Nb 3 Ga belongs to the A-15 family of superconductors, which has gained importance in recent years, due to their rising technological value from combination of the excellent performance with the good mechanical properties [1]. A-15 superconductors have relatively high transition temperature type I materials, also exhibit high critical current density and critical magnetic field values, which make these compounds for some viable applications [2]. Some of A-15 compounds with high critical temperatures are V 3 Si (T c = 17 K) [3], Nb 3 Al (T c = 19 K) [4], and Nb 3 Sn (T c = 18 K) [5].…”

“…High pressure X-ray diffraction (HP-XRD) experiments [15], carried out on technological Nb 3 Sn wires, showed an anomaly in the unit cell volume compression (around 5 GPa) not associated with any structural phase transition. A similar effect, ascribed to isostructural transitions, was observed around 15 GPa for other A15 systems, e.g., Nb 3 Ga [18] and Nb 3 Al [19] . Whereas, low temperature (T = 10 K) HP-XRD measurements, performed on a slightly non stoichiometric Nb 3 Sn 1−x single crystal, have evidenced structural instabilities around 3 GPa, suggesting a dimerization of Nb-Nb chains, providing alternating shorter/longer Nb-Nb pairs [17].…”

“…This nonmonotonic behavior in the crystal volume under compressive stress (particularly around 1.5% stress value) in the crystal may lead to electronic topological transitions (ETT). This can be seen in the Nb 3 Al [34] and Nb 3 Ga [35] based compounds experimentally and theoretically it is predicted because of ETT [36].…”
