Computational Evaluation of the Effect of Plunger Spring Stiffness On Opening and Closing Times of the Low-Pressure Gas-Phase Injector

Abstract: In the paper, an attempt was made to computationally demonstrate the effect of the plunger pressure stiffness on the opening and closing times of the low-pressure gas-phase injector as a filling of the research gap in this subject.  Based on the presented mathematical model describing the operation of the injector, firstly the results were related to the manufacturer's technical data showing a shorter time to full opening by 2.77% and a longer time to full closing by 0.50%. On this basis, it was considered tha… Show more

“…Particulate matter is composed of a center core of elemental carbon (soot) and adsorbed organic compounds including PAHs and small amounts of sulfate, metals nitrate, and other trace components [227]. The emissivity of motor vehicles and their performance can be improved in several ways, including by changing the type of fuel [23,29,[226][227][228] or the power system [63,[229][230][231][232][233][234] and recovering lost energy [176,187,211,217,235].…”

“…Combined with the definition of physical unit, this paper defines the impulse I as the integral of the output in time from the moment of energy release [8][9]. Choose a suitable time, the spring impulse will be positively correlated with the crank arm speed and the output after energy release, and the evaluation quantity reflecting the performance state is as follows:…”

“…It appears that spark-ignition engines still have great development potential [10][11][12]. Another important attribute is the ease of supplying them at the factory level or later converting them to alternative fuel [13][14][15][16][17][18]. Both of these possibilities are allowed under European [19] and Polish law.…”
