Abstract:Abstract. Computational modelling of biological flow can have many in medicine and biomechanical engineering. Stenosis of blood vessels is the main cause of vascular disease. A mathematical model of pulsating flow through stenotic blood vessels has been formulated. The numerical simulations using finite element analysis show that the axial velocity profile is controlled by the shape of the stenotic plagues and the pulsating pressure gradient. Instability due to the vessel narrowing is closely related non-unifo… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
