Computer analysis of microscopic picture of the adrenals in poisoning with organochlorine compounds

Abstract

The area of the metabolic component of the microcirculatory bed decreases in the adrenal cortex of albino rats intoxicated with 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (a herbicide), as revealed by quantitative histochemical analysis. This decrease is paralleled by a decrease in the production of adrenal steroids.
