Computerised Tomography Guided Transthoracic Aspiration Biopsy

Abstract

ABSTRACfWe report our experience 0132 patients, which were subjec:ted to Computerised tomography (CT) guided transthoracic fine needle aspiration biopsy <T·FNAR) with paJ1icular reference to technique, sensitivity and compUcation rate 10Uowing the procedure. The biopsy aspirate was obtained either using a spinal or a Chiba needle. Pneumothorax occurred in 7 patients and transient postblopsy haemoptysls in 2 patients. None 01the patients with pneumothorax or haemoptysls required any treatment. MJAFI 2002; S8: 13-26
