Abstract:Background:
Dermatoses in the elderly differ from those in the younger age group due to additional effects of intrinsic and extrinsic aging, increased prevalence of comorbidities, effects of polypharmacy, socioeconomic factors, and geographical factors. Various prevalence studies on the dermatoses in geriatric age group are available from the Indian subcontinent. Studies focusing on the agreement between their clinical and histopathological diagnosis, however, are scarce.
