Abstract:In this work we address the analysis of the stationary generalized Burgers-Huxley equation (a nonlinear elliptic problem with anomalous advection) and propose conforming, nonconforming and discontinuous Galerkin finite element methods for its numerical approximation. The existence, uniqueness and regularity of weak solutions is discussed in detail using a Faedo-Galerkin approach and fixed-point theory, and a priori error estimates for all three types of numerical schemes are rigorously derived. A set of comput… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
