This study aims to identify critical success factors for complex projects developed in alliances between companies. The theoretical framework is grounded in concepts related to projects and partnerships that address aspects related to motivation, characterization and dynamic operation. The exploratory research was conducted in an engineering services organization, mixing methods of qualitative and quantitative research. Data were gathered from 11 projects in partnerships via interviews performed with 43 managers involved in such projects. The combination of the literature review and the field research evidence highlighted some critical success factors in the projects of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) that were developed in the alliances. The results indicate five factors that were strongly correlated: cooperation, trust, information exchange, synergy and degree of integration. Furthermore, from 17 factors, 12 were significantly related to the projects' results in some of the dimensions studied.

This paper aims to introduce an innovative framework, named FCAUP, for planning and implementing conformity assessment based on a conceptual analogy with Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle of Quantum Mechanics. Conformity assessment is a very important issue in many different areas, such as, operations and quality management, international trade, sustainable development, and so on. FCAUP means "Framework for Conformity Assessment inspired by the Uncertainty Principle". This original procedure employs quantitative and qualitative techniques for analysis, classification, purposive sampling and execution of double inspections in order to reduce the uncertainty in conformity assessment activities. Its preliminary evaluation has been performed by means of three simulations regarding conformity assessments in manufacturing industries. Simulation results suggest that FCAUP is a consistent method to be used in several categories of conformity assessment.The most common technical procedures to assess conformity in many different areas are inspection, sampling, testing, quality management system assessment and audit. Inspection is defined by ISO 9000 (2015) as "determination of conformity to specified requirements" and a similar definition is given by Juran and Godfrey (1999). Liepina et al. (2014) stated that "conformity assessment is closely related to quality management" and discussions about quality management remain relevant in several areas as pointed out by Cho et al.

A crescente importância global dos grandes projetos de infraestrutura tem chamado o interesse de muitos pesquisadores para diversos temas relacionados com a gestão de grandes projetos multi-stakeholders, caracterizados por sua elevada complexidade e intensa interação entre inúmeros agentes com distintos níveis de responsabilidade. Este trabalho tem como objetivo traçar um panorama da literatura acadêmica sobre a gestão destes projetos, descrevendo os principais temas abordados, linhas de pesquisa identificadas e tendências proeminentes. Foram adotadas técnicas de análise bibliométrica, de análise de rede e de análise de conteúdo. As buscas foram realizadas na base científica de dados ISI Web of Knowledge e na base Scopus. A amostra selecionada é composta por 144 artigos publicados entre os anos de 1984 e 2015. Os modelos identificados na literatura convergem para os seguintes processos-chave: sistemas de entrega de projetos; modelos de gestão de riscos; gestão de custos em projetos; e parceria público-privada.Palavras-chave: Grandes projetos multi-stakeholders. Estudo bibliométrico.The growing global importance of large infrastructure projects has piqued the interest of many researchers in a variety of issues related to the management of large, multi-stakeholder projects, characterized by their high complexity and intense interaction among numerous stake-holders with distinct levels of responsibility. The objective of this study is to provide an overview of the academic literature focused on the management of these kinds of projects, describing the main themes considered, the lines of research identified and prominent trends. Bibliometric analysis techniques were used as well as network and content analysis. Research for information was performed in the scientific database, ISI Web of Knowledge and Scopus. The initial sample analysis consisted of 144 papers published between 1984 and 2014 and expanded to the references cited in these papers. The models identified in the literature converge with the following key-processes: project delivery systems; risk-management models; project cost management; public-private partnership.
