These blogs parallel another, related phenomenon of prison support forums, blogs, and newsletters, wherein family members and loved ones of incarcerated people communicate with each other across a variety of platforms with emotional support, tips for visitation, and legal advice (Hinck et al, 2019) (see also: The Prison Wife Podcast, online). This broad array of prison-society communication, ranging from one-way to two-way contact, indicates both the indelible need for social communication by those inside, as well as the creative ways incarcerated individuals have sought to create these avenues of contact.…”
