CONNECTION g.307 G > A SNP POLYMORPHISM OF THE ALPHA-FUKOZYLTRASFERAZA 1 GENE WITH ECONOMIC-USEFUL TRAITS IN THE LARGE WHITE PIG BREED

Abstract: One of the top priorities at the present stage of development of pig breeding remains the development of a set of measures aimed at increasing the resistance animals to various diseases, especially – to colibacteriosis .One of the recent and effective approaches to prevent colibacillosis is using markers of selection; it involves pig genotyping by genome locuses. Chosen locuses are associated with animal sensitivity to the disease and selection of the results of genotyping of animals with increased resistance.… Show more

“…Further increasing the competitiveness of production in the pig industry on the domestic market requires a transition to a more intensive level of its management (Vranken & Berckmans, 2017;Shin et al, 2018;Gómez et al, 2021). More attention is paid to the conditions of farming pigs (Kanis et al, 2004;López-Vergé et al, 2018;Mylostуva et al, 2022), their balanced feeding and growth intensity (Spring, 2020a(Spring, , 2020b, the latest approaches to meat quality assessment are used (Bankovska et al, 2020;Tarczyński et al, 2021), modern DNAtechnologies are increasingly involved Rudoman et al, 2017). The group of traits characterizing the reproductive qualities of pigs is no exception.…”

The latest approaches to assessment of meat quality (Voitenko, 2018;Kramarenko et al, 2019) are used and modern DNA technologies are increasingly involved (Rudoman et al, 2017).…”
