Abstract:Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most frequent cardiac arrhythmia. Prevention of stroke and systemic thromboembolism remainsthe cornerstone of the management of AF. Even today, there are unresolved knowledge gaps in AF pathophysiology, screeningand therapeutic strategies and stroke prevention.
