Consideration on the Resistance to Wind Damage of Transplanted Tall Trees

Abstract

This paper demonstrates the resistance to wind damage of tall trees which intends to be decreased by transplants. The objectives of this study are to clarify that how much the resistance to wind damage of the transplanted tall trees is improved by applying some supporting systems to them. At the same time, the safety of the transplanted tall trees against strong winds is discussed. Various useful information was obtained from the results that we had conducted pull-down loading tests of seventeen tall camphor trees.
