Constructing a Green Light Photodetector on Inorganic/Organic Semiconductor Homogeneous Hybrid Nanowire Arrays with Remarkably Enhanced Photoelectric Response

Abstract: We demonstrate that a novel photodetector is constructed by CdS/poly(p-phenylene vinylene) (PPV) homogeneous hybrid nanowire arrays via a simple template-assisted electrochemical codeposition approach. Owing to the well-matched energy levels between CdS and PPV, the recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes in CdS/PPV hybrid nanowire arrays is greatly inhibited. It is found that the homogeneous hybrid nanowire arrays exhibit remarkably enhanced photoelectric response and the ON/OFF ratio by 17 times… Show more

“…The expansion of the heterogeneous interface is conducive to the separation of photogenerated e-h pairs, resulting in greater photocurrent. A core–shell heterostructure is a typical structure with a large heterogeneous interface that is widely used in the field of photoelectric detection [ 59 , 60 , 61 , 62 , 63 , 64 , 65 , 66 , 67 , 68 , 69 ].…”

“…Sajid et al prepared single layer printed PD based on MEH:PPV/MoS 2 QDs composite [24]. Lin et al prepared CdS/PPV PDs, which greatly suppressed the recombination of photo-generated electrons and holes and exhibited excellent optoelectronic performance [25]. The integration of organic semiconductors and inorganic QDs improves the interaction between the optophysical properties and functions of devices [26].…”

“…The nanoarrays, composed of a large number of one-dimensional nanostructures, are beneficial for the preparation of macroscopic optoelectronic nanodevices. Therefore, ZnO nanoarrays have become one of the key materials in the field of optoelectronics [ 16 , 17 , 18 , 19 ]. Many methods have been used to synthetize ZnO nanoarrays, such as chemical, electrochemical, and physical deposition techniques [ 20 , 21 , 22 , 23 ].…”
