Abstract:When solving parametric reliability problems, one often has to construct distributions of statistical data to find the probability of containment in the operability region. This paper considers the problem of 2D statistical ensemble fitting. The use of a 2D normal distribution in statistical data description is not always justified because statistical ensembles rather frequently (at the level of marginal components and a stochastic relationship between them) have properties different from the normal case. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
