“…Allergic contact dermatitis was the most common diagnosis among occupational skin diseases in our study group; however, according to absolute numbers, it is a rare diagnosis (only eight cases). As this condition can be easily treated in the majority of cases with simple preventive measures, such as the avoidance of contact allergens (eg, instrument exchange;), we strongly recommend that patch testing should always be performed in musicians with suspected occupational skin disease.
