Interactive dashboards are becoming increasingly popular for aiding users with data discovery and BI analysis. As UX is an important factor in developing Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards, the majority of current research centers around the evaluation of the User Experience (UX) in Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards, but there are only a few studies that focus on the UX aspect of designing and developing such dashboards and most of the dashboards were developed without considering the human aspects. Therefore, the absence of UX in dashboard development can make it difficult for users to understand and fully utilize the dashboard, which leads to a lack of effectiveness. Therefore, there is a need to consider UX factors while designing and developing BI dashboards. The main aim of this study is to develop a UX Model by including both user experience and business intelligence dashboard elements for designing and developing the BI dashboards. In this research, we proposed a user experience by considering the elements of UX and BI dashboards from the existing literature, validated the model by conducting FGD, and analyzed FGD comments by applying the thematic analysis method. Based on the result after conducting analysis we updated the proposed model. The developed model can guide the developer while designing and developing the BI dashboard.

Business intelligence (BI) systems are software applications that are used to gather and process data and to deliver the processed data in understandable way to the end users. With a younger generation of users moving into key positions in organizations and enterprises higher user experience (UX) demands are placed on BI systems interfaces. Companies developing BI systems lack standardized routines for implementing UX in their BI solutions. The purpose of this study was to develop a theoretical framework based on existing research and combine it with empirical data gathered from professionals in BI systems industry in Sweden with the intention of proposing a UX framework applicable to BI systems development. The study resulted in a framework being developed using iterative build-evaluate iterations. The framework is a scalable UX framework for BI systems interfaces covering areas from planning and strategizing to implementation, maintenance, and evaluation.

Although now well established, our information systems engineering theories and methods are applied only rarely in disciplines beyond systems development. This paper reports the application of the i* goal modelling language to describe the types of and relationships between quality of life goals of people living with dementia. Published social care frameworks to manage and improve the lives of people with dementia were reviewed to synthesize, for the first time, a comprehensive conceptual model of the types of goals of people living with dementia. Although the quality of life goal model was developed in order to construct automated reasoning capabilities in a new digital toolset that people with dementia can use for life planning, the multi-stage modelling exercise provided valuable insights into quality of life and dementia care practices of both researchers and experienced practitioners in the field.
